Hold the Salad is an independent site about education and the ideas that shape it. It ranges across philosophy of education, English as a school subject, curriculum and assessment, language, literature and pedagogy.

Its central concerns are how knowledge is formed, taught and contested; how language and interpretation shape learning; and what philosophical inquiry can contribute to educational thought and practice.

The site is written and edited by Patrick Creamer, a university educator, educational writer and doctoral researcher in philosophy of education. His research explores knowledge in English as a school subject, with particular interests in inferentialism, disciplinary knowledge and the relationships among language, literature and education.
